Walking!!

Well, it has been a little over a month since Collin took his first steps. He has been very hesitant to venture out on his own, but has finally taken the plunge!! He is now walking everywhere! We were in the front yard yesterday evening, which is a big hill, and he was walking down it. Obviously his balance is not perfect yet so he kept going faster and faster, I just knew he was going to go tumbling head first! It was so funny! Anyway, we are having a blast with him!

No Job Today!

Briarcrest could not budge on the salary so I've passed up this job. I'm in no hurry. I'm not extremly happy where I am, but I'm not miserable either. My main goal is to be at Briarcrest by the time Collin starts preschool, so I have plenty of time.

Briarcrest Job

They want me for the position! I have to meet with the President to discuss money. If they will come more on the salary, I am going to take it! I hope it works out, but if not, I'll just wait for the next spot to open up. Keep us in your prayers!

Collin Update

My little baby has molars!! I didn't even know it until I saw them one day when he was laughing. It amazes me how it has not affected him very much. I think the only issue we have had is him waking up earlier...but other than that, he's his normal, happy self!
Also, I have purchased the kid seat for the toilet. It might be a little early, but I'm sitting Collin on the toilet a couple of times a day so he will get used to it. I don't want him to be afraid of it...I figure when he really is interested, he will already be accustomed to it.
He's still not taking more than about 5 steps with no one holding his hand. He'll get it eventually I guess. He gets scared, so he'll just have to build up the courage to venture out on those two little feet by himself!
He's also still not using a sippy cup. He just chews on it. He likes drinking out of a regular cup though, with our help of course. So I guess he will just skip the sippy cup all together!
Other than that, nothing else is new. He's just growing like a weed! Already needs another hair cut!!

I miss Tamra!!

Tamra, if you are reading this, I sent you an e-mail. I miss you!! Tamra is an old friend. She could tell you exactly how long we have known each other and she knows I don't have the memory to recall! :) The best I can do is we have been friends ever since elementary school. Next to my family, I have known her longer than anyone else. We have not talked or hung out in a while though and we really need to get together. Good friends are hard to find and as we get older, harder to hang on to due to busy lives. So, this is a plea to hang on to one of the best friends I have ever had! Call me Tamra!!

Job Opportunity

You all know that I am currently in the job that I am in due to my previous employer selling his company and my job being eliminated. So, I took this job for it's security. Now that I have been here for almost two months, I want to say that I love the people I am working with, but I don't love my job. This is just not what I want to do for a long time. Mainly because I do not want to work full-time. I put in an application at Briarcrest before I started this job. They have called me for an Administrative Assistant opening to the Director of academic Affairs at the High School. The job pays less, but the perks are well worth it. Let me explain...I GET THE SUMMERS OFF!!!!! Ok, so that's only one perk. I get either half off or free lunches every day. I only work seven and a half hours, with a thirty minute paid lunch. I get 401K with company matching and stock options. I get a ton of time off during the school year plus sick days. I also get 50% off of tuition when Collin is ready to go to school. The main perk though, is the summer's off. It would be like having the benefits of working and the benefits of being a stay-at-home mom all in one. Plus, Garner will be working again in August so the money won't be as big of an issue. Anyway, I interview tomorrow and I am so excited. Tina, my best pal, works at the middle school and she loves it. Her offices will eventually be moved to the high school, which means we will see each other every day again. (We worked side-by-side at PTS). She is pretty sure they are going to offer me the job seeing as how they love my resume.

If I am offered and do accept the job, I dread telling the staff here at Life Church. I hope and pray they will be understanding that it is an opportunity that I cannot pass up. I kind of feel like I will be "wronging" them in some way because I only started this job on April 10th. I could not foresee this though and I turned in my resume to Briarcrest before I took this job. I feel like I need to do what is best for my family; they are my number one priority, and so I think making the move is the right thing to do.

Well, I don't need to count my eggs before they hatch, it has not "officially" been offered to me yet. So I'll keep you posted!
