Last Day at PTS

Today was my last day at PTS. I have worked there for 3 years and truly liked my job. Sure there were the days when I was ready to pull my hair out because a sales rep could not comprehend English, but that happens anywhere. I shared an office with my best friend, it was a laid back atmosphere, I had a perfect schedule and my boss allowed us to come and go as we pleased as long as we did our work. I would dare to say that it was the perfect working environment despite the few problems here and there. But...all good things must come to an end and I do believe I am moving on to something that could possibly be even better. Maybe the scheduling might not be as great, and I might not be as free to do as I please, but I will be joining a great team and helping to do great things!

New Baby Girl!

My brother Matt and his wife Elaine are expecting their first child, a baby girl. Elaine is currently at 30 weeks, so it's getting close! They have decided on the name Anna Claire Tipton which I think is beautiful! The family is growing so quickly now!

I'm sitting over at my Father-in-Law's house while Garner helps him work in the yard. Today is Jenni's birthday and Collin spent the night with her last night. So I got to sleep in, clean bathrooms, and pack some boxes before coming over here. It has been a productive day so far! We are having a cook out this evening in honor of Jenni's birthday. She is shopping and doing things with Collin today. I think it is so sweet that she wanted to spend her birthday with him! Other than packing, preparing to change jobs and all the normal daily tasks, not much is new. I can't believe Collin is almost one!!! Time flies by WAY TOO FAST!!! He is such an adorable little boy and we just love him to death! Can you tell I'm a proud parent?!? To whomever is reading this, I hope all is well in your world. Talk to you later!

Georgia Aquarium

We went to the Georgia Aquarium over this past weekend with my sister Katie, her son Drew, and my Mom. We loved it! It is certainly worth the trip even if you don't have kids. There are four different sections and lots of "touching" areas. If you go though, it's best to purchase tickets in advance and go at the 8am time frame. We got there at 8 and within an hour, it was pretty full. So I imagine going later in the day is extremely chaotic.
Collin wants to everyone what a great time he had:

So there you have it, straight from the fingers of an 11 month old!

Happy Birthday to Me!!! :)

Yesterday was my birthday and it was a good one for several reasons.
First, Collin was here to help me celebrate and that was a great!
Second, I was surrounded by family and friends.
Third, I got the ipod I've been wanting and some other really great gifts!
So I am now one more year older and it seems to be getting more difficult every year to remember how old I am. It's been especially difficult to remember anything since Collin was born! We are always so focused on him, that I totally loose any focus on myself. I don't think that is a bad thing though, just don't expect me to recall any facts about myself on the spot! :)
My Dad's birthday is tomorrow, so in the case that he happens to read this, which I doubt, Happy Birthday Dad!!

House Update

Well, we counter offered the buyers and they have accepted. So looks like the house is sold! I think I will really feel safe with it though when the contract is finally signed. Closing will be on April 20th and we will give them the keys on April 23rd. Garner's Birthday is on April 22nd; poor thing will have to be moving boxes all day! :(

Offer on the house

Someone has made an offer on our house and we are meeting with Garner's Dad tonight to go over it. Please pray for us that the offer is a good one. We are very anxious to get it sold!

Job Update

Ok, I am going to take the job at Life Church. The Pastor really feels that I am the right person for the job and after speaking with him and the head Financial guy yesterday, I feel comfortable accepting the job. I will be making a little bit more there and it's still a relaxed atmosphere like where I am at now. I don't think depending on a severance package at PTS is the smart decision. Instead, I am perusing stability for my family, so that's mine and Garner's decision! Thank you everyone for your prayers!

Job Update

I am meeting with the pastor at Life Church today to review salary, benefits, etc. I have talked more with my current boss though and actually feel more comfortable with the situation. Unless what is offered at the church is just too good to pass up, I think I am going to stick it out here at PTS. I know now that I will be given a 60-90 notice if my job is eliminated, which it probably will be but not for a while. I also know for sure that I will be given a severance package, which is great. Garner will most likely start working again in August and it won't be as big of a deal then since we will have another income; assuming my job lasts until then, which my boss thinks it will. I really like where I am at and am unwilling to give it up if the offer does not satisfy me. So, I imagine I will continue at PTS until my job is no more. Probably more to come on my decision at the end of the week.
On a fun note, Garner, Collin and I are going to the Georgia aquarium with my sister Katie, her husband Darrell, and their son Drew. If you have not heard much about it, it is huge and supposed to be really awesome! We are leaving on March 17th and I am looking forward to a fun weekend!

Interview at Life Church

So the interview was short and sweet. I think it would be a great place to work and I am currently waiting on the Pastor to get back to me about money and benefits. I have also sent my resume to Hilton for a Staff Analyst position. So I'm just going with the flow for now. I do know for sure that my job at PTS will be moved to their Florida office. I was not given a time frame though. My boss just told me that if I had a good opportunity, I should take it. So...I'm checking out my opportunities. Please keep us in your prayers.
